Application availability is measured to evaluate whether an application is functioning properly, whether it’s usable to meet the requirements of a business.

Application availability is determined based on application-specific key performance indicators such as overall application uptime and downtime. But many other other factors can be measured depending on your application such as number of completed transactions and responsiveness.

Real or perceived application failures are also taken into account, such as errors and issues… these could be transaction timeouts, missing web resources, and DNS lookup errors.
