Hi, welcome to the term of the day: the OSI Network model, what’s it consist of?

Layer 1: the physical layer, providing a physical network connection, defining the electrical and physical characteristics

Layer 2: the datalink layer, which creates a point-to-point connection between network endpoints, receives and sends data to and from the network layer

Layer 3: the network layer, responsible for routing data between network endpoints

Layer 4: the transport layer, ensuring delivery and quality-of-service

Layer 5: the session layer, which creates, maintains, and terminates sessions between endpoints
