A10 Networks is committed to the agility and security of businesses worldwide. To strategically deliver on this promise, the company has acquired multi-cloud application delivery expert Appcito.
Announced in a press release today, the move represents a calculated milestone in A10’s vision to help businesses become more secure and operationally agile as they bridge traditional and cloud-based application environments, including public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud deployments.
“We are helping our customers become both ‘cloud-ready’ and ‘cloud-native,’” A10 Networks CEO Lee Chen said in the release. “We are giving them cutting-edge capabilities to control secure application services delivery across their data centers and clouds, such as in the area of analytics and automation.”
The acquisition of Appcito enhances and evolves the A10 Harmony solution architecture. Launched in early 2015, A10 Harmony empowers businesses to deliver secure application services across traditional data centers, private clouds, public clouds and hybrid clouds.
“Applications have evolved from traditional and virtualized to cloud-native,” said A10 Networks director of product management Kishore Inampudi. “For enterprise IT, all that matters is secure and agile application delivery across both on-premise and the cloud.
“A10 has a comprehensive portfolio of secure application services that are completely API-driven and cloud-ready.”
Based in Santa Clara, Calif., Appcito is an innovative provider of a versatile SaaS-based, multi-cloud application delivery solution utilizing microservices and container architecture. The company was named a Gartner “Cool Vendor in Enterprise Networking” in 2015.
“Appcito was founded with a vision to deliver cloud-native application delivery services and help application teams become more agile, while delivering application performance and security that their end users demand,” said Appcito CEO and Co-Founder Kamal Anand in the announcement. “Becoming part of A10 Networks and their customer-focused innovation culture will bring added benefits to application teams as they strive to make their businesses more and more agile.”
New A10 Harmony-based cloud offerings, with integrated Appcito technology, will be delivered beginning in late 2016.
